Richard Powers  (R.C. Powers Sr.)

Richard was the son of
Patrick and Johanna.  He was born in 1862 or 1863 in Bellevue,
Ohio.
Richard married Millicent Belle Meacham.

Richard and Mildred had seven children:  Edward, Mabel, Florence, Clarence, Clifford,
Richard and Nina.

Richard worked for the Norwalk Foundry in Norwalk, Ohio, he also worked in a cannery
for canned foods in Norwalk.  He had a very ‘Irish’ look, usually pictured with a large
moustache and a derby hat.

Millicent 'Belle' Meacham Powers        Mildred, Millicent, Millie, Millie-Belle

Millie Meacham was born in 1864 in Put-In-Bay, Ohio and was the daughter of
Ulysses
Meacham.  It is interesting that Patrick Powers was obviously a devout Catholic and
Ulysses Meacham a devout Protestant, yet Millie Meacham married Patrick's son
Richard, who was, by that time, a Methodist.
